Cherished Memories

Robert "Bob" Csillag was born in Brooklyn New York into a mostly German and Hungarian family. He enlisted into the military around the time he was 18 years old and joined the United States Airforce. At some point while stationed at Loring he became part of a B-52 crew. The planes carried nuclear bombs and were kept in a state of readiness. This was the time of the cold war, and they were flying missions to various targets. Bob participated in a mission during October 1962, as the Cuban missile crisis got intense, in which his place was ordered into action right before the Russians backed down. Bob returned home to live the rest of his life in Brooklyn with his Wife Mary and three children Robert, Kathy and Krissy, along with his pet cats and turtle.
